New Bedford – Maria (Pacheco) Macedo died Friday, January 14, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Rubens Macedo and the mother of Ruben Macedo of Fairhaven. Mrs. Macedo had 3 grandchildren: grandson Nicholas Macedo, granddaughter Michelle Macedo and grandson Frank Macedo, and sister of Maria Fernanda Jeronimo. She was the mother of the late Francisco Macedo and sister of the late Joao Paulino.
Mrs. Macedo was the daughter of the late Manuel Paulino Pacheco and Maria Pacheco. She was employed at Cornell Dubilier as a machine operator until her retirement.
Her funeral will be on Tuesday, January 18, 2005, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet St., New Bedford. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Family and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be from 5 - 8 P.M., on Monday, January 17, 2005 at Perry Funeral Home.
