Aferdita “Rita” (Tassey) Fagan passed away at her home in Natick on Thursday, March 5, 2015. She was ninety years old.
Born and raised in Tilton, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Mathew and Thena (Andoni) Tassey.
Mrs. Fagan was the devoted wife of Garrett M. “Gary” Fagan of Natick with whom they just celebrated their sixty-third anniversary on February 24th. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Employed with the First National Grocery Store in Natick for a few years, she spent the next eighteen years as the fitting lady at Marshalls where all the customers knew and loved her. She was a Natick resident since the 1950’s and a member of the Albanian Church of Natick.
Rita enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, gardening and growing her vegetables, roses and shrubs.
She was a loving mother of Michael Fagan of Quincy, Stephen Fagan and his wife Christy of Natick, Kathleen Augustini of Hopkinton and the late Mark Fagan and a late stillborn son in 1956.
Cherished grandmother of Luke, Mathew and Timothy Fagan, Lily and Nina Augustini. Sister of Steve Tassey and his wife Kay of NH and the late John and George Tassey, Christine Adams and Marion Kyrka.
Rita’s funeral will be held from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Monday, March 9th at 9:00AM. Funeral Service in the Albanian Orthodox Church, 37 Washington St., Natick at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, March 8th from 2:00-5:00PM in the funeral home. Burial in Dell Park Cemetery, Natick.
Rita touched many people in her life and will be remembered for her kind heart. Her family asks everyone to wear bright colors to the wake and funeral.
