Arthur L. Homer 80, of East Bridgewater died Monday March 2 at Wingate at Silver Lake in Kingston after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Jul (Kievenaar) Homer.
He was born in Weymouth, the only son of Charles and Louise (Holland) Homer.
Arthur graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1957. He worked at the Boston Veterans Administration for 40 years, reaching the position of outpatient pharmacy director. During his career, he was a pharmacist at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth and the Massachusetts Respiratory Hospital in Braintree.
He was a 12 years member of the Rockland Board of Health and a member of the Rockland Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his wife Jul he leaves behind three children, Charles H. Homer of East Bridgewater, Jul Marie H. Pratt of Randolph and Arthur L. Homer, Jr. of Haverhill. He was also the brother of the late Gertrude Berg, Rita Kondrat and Catherine MacDonald.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his services on Sunday March 8th at 4:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Visitation will be held prior to his service from 2:00-4:00 PM. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery at a later date.
