Obituary

Raymond Troupe, 54, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, January 13, 2005 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Irwin County, with the Rev. Andy Day officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mr. Troupe was born March 11, 1950, in Atkinson County, Georgia, to Elzie Mancil Troupe and the late Edward Troupe. He lived in Irwin County most of his life. Mr. Troupe was a graduate of East Central Technical College. He was a Brick Mason and Carpenter, having worked for Music & Worth Inc. in Live Oak, Florida. Mr. Troupe was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Willacoochee. He was an avid woodworker and loved to build furniture.

Mr. Troupe is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Tonya & Buck Veazey, Leesville, LA and Amanda & Stanley Wilkes, Lyons, GA; seven grandchildren; mother: Elzie Troupe, Pearson, GA; five brothers: Grover Troupe, Pearson, David Troupe, South Carolina, Wendell Troupe, Douglas, GA, Larry and Donnie Troupe, both of Berrien County, GA; two sisters: Jewell Fender and Joann Harper, both of Pearson, GA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy and Terry Troupe.
