LOWELL—Mary D. (Mello) Kalich, 70 years old, died Friday evening, January 7th, at Saints Memorial Medical Center, after a brief illness. She was the wife of George E. Kalich, with whom she celebrated 44 years of marriage in September of 2004.
She was born in Lowell, on July 27, 1934, a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Margaret M. (Mattos) Mello, and was a graduate of the Lowell Public School System and Lowell High School.
Surviving her besides her husband are two sons and one daughter-in-law: George E. and Judy Kalich, Jr., of New Paris, IN; and Benjamin Kalich, of Marysville, WA; a brother: Joseph C. Mello, Jr., of Clermont, FL; a sister: Eleanor M. Mello, of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Theresa L. Mello, who died in 1999.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM on Tuesday, January 11th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her funeral service will be held Wednesday morning, Janaury 12th, at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial in the Lowell Cemetery.
