WORCESTER-Julia A. Moran, 92, of Worcester, a schoolteacher for many years died Wednesday, April 3rd in Beverly Hermitage Healthcare after a long illness. She leaves a sister-in-law Mary Moran of Auburn, 2 nieces; Nancy Morrissey of Chapel Hill, NC and Eleanor Russell of Auburn, several grand nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother H. Joseph Moran of E. Harwich, 4 sisters, Margaret Maynard of Shrewsbury, Catherine, Agnes and Mary Moran all of Worcester.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Humphrey J. and Mary (O’Connor) Moran. Ms. Moran graduated from South High School and Ms. Niels Kindergarten School in Boston. She earned her Bachelors degree in Education from Boston University and a Masters degree from Worcester State College. She taught several years in Boylston before coming to Worcester to teach at Woodland Street and Freeland Street Kindergartens. She was a member of the Worcester Teacher’s Association, and the Southern Worcester County Retired Association. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.
There are no calling hours. Burial and funeral will be at the convenience of the family. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue is directing the arrangements. Donations may be sent to the Mortgage Fund of Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
