Beloved husband of Mary P. (Phelan) McAuliffe. Loving father of Marie A. Courage, Patrick McAuliffe, both of Quincy, Colleen Hope of Spencer, Janice McAuliffe, and Michael McAuliffe, both of Quincy. Brother of Marie Flaherty of Braintree. Grandfather of Michael Francis Courage.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON Tuesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 227 Sea St., Quincy at 10 AM.
Visitation prior to Mass.
Mr. McAuliffe worked as an engineer/designer for General Dynamics (previously Bethleham Steel) in Quincy for 25 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a past Commander for the American Legion Post #79 in Weymouth, a member of the DAV, and involved with Quincy Youth Hockey.
He was an avid saxophonist and loved jazz.
While serving in the Navy during the Korean Conflict, served aboard the USS Jeffers, traveled to Montego Bay, Italy, Geneva, & the West Indies, and earned a Purple Heart.
He was a graduate of Mount Saint Charles Academy, Franklin Institute for machine design, the Fenner School for drafting, and Boston College for physics.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends
