SOMERSET - Maria Clotilde (Martins) Taveira, 78, of 500 Wilbur Ave. Somerset, formerly of Bullock Rd. East Freetown and Swansea, died Saturday January 8th at the Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center in Somerset. She is survived by 2 Sons: Antone D. Taveira III of East Freetown, Paul Taveira of Westport, 1 Daughter: Patricia Pacheco of East Freetown, 4 Sisters: Conceicao Torres of Fall River, Candida Esteves of E. Providence, RI, Ines Franco and Francisca Martins both of the Azores, 4 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 1 great-grandson, several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Jose & Teresa Martins.
She was born in Rabo de Peixe, Azores, the daughter of the late Jose Martins and the late Maria Conceicao (Pacheco) Martins. Prior to retiring, she had worked as a Sewing Machine Operator in the Needle Craft Industry. She was a member of St. Bernard Church, Main Rd. Assonet.
Her funeral will take place on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 8:45 A.M. from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St. Fall River followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Bernard Church, Main Rd. Assonet, MA. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Robeson St. Fall River. Calling Hours Monday from 4-8 P.M.
