Jose V. Arruda, age 85, passed away on Wednesday February 25, 2015. Born in Santa Bárbara Santo António alem Capelas São Miguel Açores, he was the son of the late Jose Aguiar Arruda and Diamentina de Jesus (Pacheco) Arruda. He was a Machine Operator at a Sugar Factory and a parishioner of Saint Michael’s Parish.
He is survived by his Children: Olga Camara (husband Carlos), Maria Carvalho (husband Tony), Jose, John (wife Adriana) and Manuel Arruda; Siblings: Antonio, Agostinho and Conceicao Arruda, Trindade Soares, Maria de Santo Christo and Teresa Bettencourt, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Mariana Carlos, Eduardo and Joao Arruda.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on SUNDAY from 3-6 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
