Leone Christine (Kulus) Greene, 94, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Hospice Care of RI Inpatient Center, in Providence. She was the widow of James Leo Greene, Sr.
Born in Little Falls, MN, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas Ignatius and Katherine Marie (Sodergerski) Kulus.
A graduate of Eitel Hospital Nursing School, Minneapolis, MN, Leone served in WWII as a Charge Nurse attaining the rank of 1LT. She was stationed in Lake Charles, LA where she met her late husband. She moved to East Providence, RI in 1946.
Leone was predeceased by her granddaughter, Rebecca E Greene and is survived by her eight children: Katherine G. Skolaude of Vancouver, CA; Susan G. McGonagle of Winchester, MA; James L Greene, Jr., of Cranston; Thomas B. Greene of Lincoln; Stephen M. Greene, Brian J. Greene and David J. Greene all of Barrington; and Paul G. Greene of Ankara, Turkey; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be given to the charity of your choice.
