John “Jack” McDonough, 68, of Manchester, died January 4, 2005, at Catholic Medical Center after a sudden illness.
He was born in Manchester on March 7, 1936, and was the son of Joseph and Helen (Shea) McDonough. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester and a parishioner of St. Raphael Church.
Jack was a graduate of Bishop Bradley High School, and Hesser College. He served in the United States Army. He retired from Public Service of NH after 31 years.
Jack was a charter member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Rev. William Shanahan Division 1. He was member of the Color Guard of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Pipes and Drums. In addition he was a member of the Henry J. Sweeney Post #2, Manchester.
Jack was a frequent visitor to Disney World making sure to bring along one of his ten grandchildren. He loved marching with the pipe band, and the sound of the pipes. Until recently, his was a common face out in front of the pipe band any time they had an event.
Family members include his wife of 44 years, Jacqueline (Gendron) McDonough, of Manchester; 4 daughters, Lynne Covey of Manchester, Sharon Godfrey Eschrich of Concord, Colleen Melcher of Hooksett, Amy McDonough, of Manchester; 10 grandchildren; 3 sisters, June Roy, of Manchester, Carol Riley, of Haverhill MA, Sheila Boufford, of Manchester; a brother Richard McDonough, of Manchester; he was predeceased by his sister Marilyn Rousseau, in March of 2000.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday January 8, 2004 in St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St. Manchester, NH.
Burial wasat a later date.
