Silverio (Tchibe) Galvao (64) of Brockton died February 21st in the St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Brighton.
He was born in St. Filipe, Fogo, Cape Verde son of the late Vasco and Virginia (Madeira) Galvao and has been a Brockton resident since 1986. He was a automotive mechanic by trade. Tchibe enjoyed traditional Cape Verdean music, dancing and following Benefica Soccer.
Survivors include a daughter Suraia DeAndrade of Brockton, 2 sons Oscar Galvao of Brockton and Elvis Galvao of Praia, Santiago, Cape Verde, 4 grandchildren Melissa, Elizabeth, Alciara and Elijah, 4 brothers Pedro, Autilo, Paulo and Joao, 5 sisters Maria, Angelica, Natalia, Fatima and Mina all of Brockton also many other brothers and sisters in Cape Verde and Portugal.
Funeral Services from the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton Saturday March 7th at 8:30 AM followed by Services in the Nova Alianca Church 38 Mystic Street Brockton at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. Visitation Friday March 6th from 5-9 pm.
