Betty Lou (Bumpus) Geggatt of Teaticket, 79, died February 20 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital after a brief illness. She also leaves family in Mashpee.
She was the wife of Robert F. Geggatt Sr. for 61 years. He died in October 2013.
Ms. Geggatt was born in Wareham and had been a Falmouth resident for more than 50 years.
She enjoyed family reunions and loved the beach, bingo and bowling.
She leaves six children, Robert F. Geggatt Jr. of East Falmouth, Sherry Geggatt of Hyannis, Susan DesVergnes of Portland, Oregon, Joan L. Geggatt of Mashpee, Kimberly Sue Geggatt of Falmouth, and Gregory S. Geggatt of East Falmouth; two sisters, Joan Patrick of Alabama and Lillian DeYoung of Michigan; two brothers, Billy Bumpus and Bobby Harlow of New Bedford; and 16 grandchildren.
She also was mother of the late Michael Geggatt; and the sister of the late Barbara Sullivan and Jean Duarte.
A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
