Worcester- Zita L. (Telkys) MacDonald, 69, of 94 Lakewood St., died Saturday, January 1, after a year-long battle with cancer.
Her husband, James M. MacDonald, died in 1973. She leaves a son, Richard Perham of Ormond Beach, FL; a daughter, Cherilynn A. Reich of Worcester; six grandchildren. Her sister, Regina Telkys, died in 1974. She was born in Salantoi, Lithuania, daughter of Erik and Emilia (Venckus) Telkys, and moved here in 1949.
Mrs. MacDonald was a machine operator at New England Plating Company for many years before her retirement.
She was a former member of St. Casimir Parish and enjoyed taking long walks and spending time with her family.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 6, in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., is directing arrangements.
