Lucille Simone (Cote) Letendre, 81, of New Bedford passed away Tuesday February 17, 2015 at Our Lady's Haven due to complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was the wife of the late Ronald G. Letendre; they had been married for 54 years.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Rodolphe and Laurianne (Legere) Cote, she was raised in Pawtucket, RI, prior to her family moving back to New Bedford where she lived for the rest of her life.
She was a communicant St. Joseph-St. Therese Church and was a member of the Legion of Mary.
Lucille graduated from St. Anthony's High School and worked as a secretary at Chamberlain Manufacturing prior to devoting her time to raising her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna M. Longworth and her husband Steven of Lee, NH and Lynn S. Freitas and her husband David of Acushnet; a sister, Pauline Gregoire of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Allison, Andrew, and Anthony Freitas; and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church at 10 AM. A private family burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 3-5 PM.
