HAVERHILL: Regine S. (Popielarczyk) Wojtaszek, 95, died peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in the Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, New Hampshire. She was the wife of the late Peter J. Wojtaszek who died in 1992.
Born in New Haven, Connecticut on June 28, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Martha (Kadelska) Popielarczyk. She had resided in Newark, New Jersey for many years before moving to Plaistow, NH in 1944 and then eventually to Haverhill, MA.
Regine had a passion for sewing and clothing design. An active member of the Capt. William D. Glynn Marine Corps League Auxiliary, she served as its President for several years.
She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Gloria Wojtaszek of Stockbridge GA, Kenneth and Nanette Wojtaszek of Palm Bay, FL and Ronald and Deborah Wojtaszek of Hudson, NH and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 24th in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue at Broadway, (Rt. 97) Haverhill at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Monday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill from 6 – 8 P.M. Interment will be privately held in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
