BEVERLY - Patricia Mary (Allen) Aberg died peacefully on February 17, 2015 at Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation Center in Beverly.
Patricia was born on August 22, 1922 in Washington Heights, NY to William and Violet (Benner) Allen. She worked as a secretary in the State Department in Washington DC during World War II, before returning to New York City to take a job with the telephone company. She married John Aberg in 1956; they had three children, and were happily married for 50 years before his death in 2006. Patricia worked for many years at the Jewish Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in River Vale NJ, after her retirement she was active in the River Vale senior center and acted as trip coordinator. Patricia was known for her sense of humor and good spirits. She loved traveling, dancing, bingo, and being in the center of things.
Patricia was predeceased by her sister Muriel O’Connell and brother William Allen. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Aberg and Peter Alachi of Salem, MA; Erika Aberg and Mark Kleinhaut of Saratoga Springs, NY; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Donna (Smith) Aberg of Manchester, NH; and her nieces Jean Allison and Janet Severino.
Patricia’s family would like to thank the staff at Blueberry Hill for the wonderful care they provided during their mother’s last year.
Patricia’s ashes will be interred March 9 at 10:30am at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
