Obituary

Jane (Burnes) Murray, 73, of Newton Centre, the retired office manager for Riverside Community Care, died Monday Jan 3, 2005 at the Brigham & Women’s’ Hospital in Boston.
Born in Manhattan, NY she graduated from Newton High School in 1949. She received her BA from Westbrook College in Maine. She worked as a secretary for Loomis Sales in Boston. She lived in Somerville before moving to Newton many years ago. She worked for several years as a driver for Suburban Transportation and had worked for Riverside Community Care from 1983 until her retirement in June 2004. During her years with Riverside she received many citations and awards in recognition of her many achievements. She also served as a lunch mother at the Bowen School in Newton Centre and volunteered with the Campfire Girls.
She is remembered by her family as an avid Red Sox fan who enjoyed being with her family and vacationing in Chatham.
Wife of the late Edward G. Murray Sr., and mother of he late William E. Murray she is survived by her children Julie McCaffrey of Potomac MD, Susan Murray of Stow, and Edward G. Murray Jr. of Sharon; her mother Janet (Baldwin) Burnes of Newton and her grandchildren Cate and Brigid McCaffrey and Edward G. Murray III. She was the daughter of the late William R. Burnes.
Relatives and friends will gather at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on sat Jan 8, 2005 at 9 AM and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church Newton Centre at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be in the funeral hoe on Fri from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
