TEWKSBURY: Patricia A. (Nelson) Diorio, age 76, a 21 year resident of Tewksbury, formerly of Everett, passed away at home, with her family by her side, on Saturday, February 14, 2015.
She was the beloved wife of Richard L. Diorio, with whom she celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on December 29, 2014.
Born in Everett on March 13, 1938, she was the daughter of the late George A. Nelson and the late Alice (Ekerman) Nelson.
Patricia was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School in 1956.
Prior to her retirement in 1994, she worked as a Medical Assistant for the Everett Family Practice for 10 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, fishing with her husband and spending the winter months in Florida.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Richard L. Diorio, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Tewksbury, Donna M. Diorio of Tewksbury, Stephen F. Diorio and his wife Jean of Wilmington, Denise A. Harrington and her husband Timothy, and Lori A. Travis all of Tewksbury; one sister, Claire A. Carney and her husband Kenneth of Milwaukee, WI; one brother, James R. Nelson and his wife Carol of Tampa, FL; twelve much loved grandchildren.
Calling hours are Monday, Feb. 23, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
