Santoro of Brockton January 4, 2005, Albert P. “Al” Santoro, 73 years. Beloved husband of Mary L. (Villa) Santoro. Loving father of James G. Santoro and his wife Christine of Belmont and Alison M. Santoro of Brockton. Cherished grandfather of Alexandra Santoro of Belmont. Dear brother of John Santoro of Wareham, Frank “Chi-Chi” Santoro of Brockton, Matilda “Tillie” Raynard of E. Bridgewater, Catherine Vacchino of Florida, the late William, Anthony, James, Leo, Joseph, Domenic and many other late siblings. Also survived by several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123)Brockton Friday at 9:30am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Mr. Santoro died on Tuesday surrounded by his loving family at the Brockton Hospital after a short illness. Born in Brockton, Al was the second youngest of twenty-three children to the late Frank and Catherine (Guerra) Santoro. He had been a life long resident of Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School Class of 1951.Mr. Santoro was a member and on the Board of Directors for Conte Memorial Club, located in Brockton. Member of the Massachusetts Labor’s Union Local #721, the Sons of Italy Brockton Lodge and he also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He had served in the United States Navy Reserves. He formally owned Santoro’s Italian Deli and Variety Store located in Brockton for many years. Mr. Santoro enjoyed playing cards daily with his friends and was constant in helping others and donating his time.
