Obituary

Worcester—Linwood Warren Hall, 72, died Sunday, January 2, 2005, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus. He leaves his wife, Maureen (Carey) Hall; 5 sons, Timothy Hall of Upton, Michael Hall of Milford, Kenneth Hall of Mendon, Christopher Hall of Uxbridge, and Matthew Carey of Worcester; a daughter, Kathleen Hucknall of San Diego; and 3 grandchildren. A brother, Leonard Hall, predeceased him in death.


Mr. Hall was born in Portland Maine, a son of the late Leo and Agnes (Jackson) Hall. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1953 and in the U.S. Air Force for more than 21 years, retiring in 1971 as Staff Sergeant. During his military career, Mr. Hall was stationed in Korea (1951-1953), French Morocco, Philippine Islands, Tripoli, Libya, and Vietnam (1968-1969). He was awarded the Bronze Star medal at Ellsworth AFB, Rapid City, SD for meritorious service as a noncommissioned officer in charge of the Standardization and Evaluation Division, 25th Tactical Fighter Wing, Republic of Vietnam. He worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1974-1994. He was a life member of VFW Post 5594 in Upton and the American Legion Post 414 in Sutton. Mr. Hall enjoyed spending summers in Limerick, Maine.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 6, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 5-8 p.m., Wed., Jan. 5, at the funeral home.
