HYDE PARK - Phyllis M. ( Stratford) McDermott, 83, of Hyde Park died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at Old Colony Nursing Home after a brief illness, she was the wife of the late John J. “Jack” McDermott.
Born in Boston, raised in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Corrigan) Stratford.
Mrs. McDermott was a graduate of Girls High School in Boston and had resided in Hyde Park for the past 43 years.
She was active with Most Precious Blood Church in Hyde Park and was a member of the Mater Dei Guild of the church.
She is survived by her children, John J. McDermott Jr. and his wife Deborah A. of East Bridgewater and Jane M. McDermott and her partner Mary Goglio of Oakland, Calif.; her two grandsons, Brian J. and Kevin P. McDermott, both of East Bridgewater and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late John, James, Arthur and Paul McDermott.
Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, 35 Spring St. East Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 in St. John Church, East Bridgewater.
Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
