WORCESTER___Mary Ann Jurgiel, 84, of 45 Upland Gardens Dr., died Saturday January 1 in her home.
She leaves a brother, George R. Jurgiel of Worcester and a sister, Anne M. Portelance of Leicester; 8 nephews and nieces, 11 grand nephews and grand nieces and 16 great grand nephews and great grand nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Stephen Jurgiel, Joseph Jurgiel and Stephanie Jurgiel and a half brother Fred A. Berestin. Her step father, John Berestin and step brothers and step sister, Thomas Berestin, John Berestin and Stella Garrett also died before her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Vronicka) Jurgiel and lived here all her life.
Miss Jurgiel worked 25 years as an accountant for Guaranty Bank and retired many years ago. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School and Commerce High School. Mary Ann was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday January 5 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday January 5 from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Memorial Fund, 34 Ward St., Worcester, 01610.
