Roland P. Mercure, 64 of Taunton, MA, died Friday, December 31, 2004 in the Morton Hospital & Medical Center, Taunton. Mr. Mercure was born in Derry, NH on December 27, 1940, a son of Lena (Levesque) Mercure of Salem, NH and the late Walter Mercure. He was a resident of Taunton for 7 years, formerly living in Salem, NH and Houston, TX for many years. Mr. Mercure was a graduate of Bishop Bradley High School in Manchester, NH class of 1959. He was an Army veteran serving during Vietnam and was a member of the VFW Post #611 in Taunton. He was an entrepeneur and a talented stained glass craftsman.
He is survived by his life partner, Patricia M. Wyatt of Taunton with whom he resided, a son, Peter B. Mercure of Long Beach, CA, two daughters, Stephanie M. Mercure Thompson and Dawn M. Mercure, both of Austin, TX, a stepson, Michael Wyatt of Taunton, two stepdaughters, Rebecca Wyatt and Denise Wyatt, both of Taunton, four granddaughters, one brother, Edmond Mercure of Salem, NH, one sister, Constance Violette of Manchester, NH and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 4th at 10:00am in the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave. Derry, NH. The burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry, NH in the spring. Friends may call on Monday from 6-8pm, at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VA Hospital West Roxbury Campus,1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132.
