Bertha L. “Bunnie” (Tighe) Hill, age 89, of South Easton, formerly of Brockton, died February 15, 2015 at the Hannah B. G. Shaw Home, following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald P. Hill. Bunnie was born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late Matthew and Gladys (Woodland) Tighe. She was a 1944 graduate of Brockton High School. Bunnie had been a longtime communicant of St. Margaret Church; enjoyed time with family and friends; traveling and shopping.
She was the mother of Steven E. Hill and his wife Nancy; Joanne Thorpe and her husband David; David L. Hill and his wife Lisa and Robert F. Hill and his wife Kathleen all of Lakeville; grandmother of Lauren Weigold and her husband Corey; Brittany Thorpe, and Justine, Donny, Robert, Daniel and Tyler Hill; and sister of Robert and Lloyd Tighe and the late Matthew Tighe. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Friday at 8am for a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial will be held at a later date in Melrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bunnie’s name to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Avenue, Ste 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
