Donna Frey Kilmer
Augusta, GA – Mrs. Donna Frey Kilmer, 84, entered into rest Sunday, January 18, 2015.
Mrs. Kilmer was a graduate of Ohio State University. She served as an officer in the United States Navy for three years. She was a public school teacher in Hephzibah for twenty-five years. She worked as a volunteer for St. Paul’s Church for twenty years. She was known to many as an educator, but her first love was music. She served as choir director at Rincon United Methodist Church and formed and directed a children’s choir. She served as choir director at Wesley United Methodist Church in Hopewell, Virginia and was a member of Bermuda 500 Methodist Folk Choir. She served as choir director at Hephzibah United Methodist Church for eighteen years. She also formed and directed the Hephzibah Methodist Folk Choir, a youth choir that performed over seventy-five concerts at various churches throughout the CSRA. She sang with the Augusta Choral Society and was a member of the St. Paul’s Church Choir for over twenty years.
She is survived by her son Corey Kilmer (Toni), daughter Virginia Kilmer Veale (Erwin), grandson Adam Veale, and her granddaughter Corinne Veale.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul’s Church in Augusta with interment in the churchyard immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Music Fund.
