Rhode Island – Edward R. "Ted" Karl, age 71 of Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of 48 years to Cynthia (Rapoza) Karl. Born in Framingham, MA, he was the son of the late Grace (Gelder) and the late Edward R. "Dutchy" Karl.
Mr. Karl worked as a Collection Agent for Citizens Bank and Stop and Shop for 23 years. His favorite pastimes were going to the beach, the movies and the gym, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
His family includes his children: Edward J. "Teddy" Karl and his wife Karen of St. Louis, Todd P. Karl and his wife Ann of Westport, and Tracey Karl of Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren: Ethan Karl, Zachary Karl, Victoria Karl, and Dylan Karl; 2 aunts: Sister Rena Gagnon and Theresa Fidalgo; 1 brother: Robert Gagnon and his wife Debbie, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
His funeral will be Thursday beginning in the funeral home at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in South Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4 - 7 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
