Obituary

DUDLEY – Adam M. “Brushie” Kubik, 84, of 10 Jaybee Avenue, died Thursday, Dec. 30, in Lanessa Extended Care.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Rita A. (Sabaj) Kubik; a daughter, Susan Kubik and her partner Pepi Leistyna of Scituate; 3 sisters, Kaye Fitzgibbons of Quinebaug, Elizabeth McDonaugh of Worcester, and Dorothy Girard of Brewster; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Mary Hippert, Sophie Barre and Rose John.

He was born in Dudley, the son of Mathias and Ludmila (Jakubcik) Kubik, and lived in Webster and Dudley all his life. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1937.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Kubik retired as the superintendent of Webster Wire, a division of Webster Spring Company in Oxford, in 1985. He had worked there for 45 years. He was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church, the Disabled American Veterans and the Booster Athletic Club. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and was an avid card player.

The funeral will be held Monday, January 3, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road. Burial will be in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery, Webster. A calling period will be from 9:15 to 10:15 Monday morning at the funeral home.
