Rochdale – George “Kitt Little Turtle” Munyan, 64, of 32 Siani Rd., Rochdale started his journey to walk with his creator on Dec. 30.
Mr. Munyan leaves a half brother Rueben Munyan of MD; a half sister Esther Morawetz of CT; an Aunt Jessie Hughes of Webster; a cousin Mary McCann of CT; and many friends and relatives in the native community. He was born in Thompson, CT son of George and Rose (Walden) Munyan.
Mr. Munyan worked as an artist and writer for the Webster Times. He was a founding member of the Nipmuck House of Learning; which was a Native American School where he taught the Algonquin language and culture. He was also a native Historian and Spiritual Leader.
A service will be held on Saturday, January 1st in his home from 3 to 7 PM. Donations may be made to Nipmuck Turtle Drum c/o Loving One 20 Singletary Ave. Sutton, MA 01590.
