Nelle F. Rigdon, 82, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Irwin County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Frank Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County with Elder Edward McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in the Frank Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Rigdon was born January 18, 1933, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Roy Quinn and Bertha McMillian Freeman. She attended school in Irwin County and was a homemaker. Mrs. Rigdon loved to travel and had visited every state in the country except Hawaii. She was an active member of Frank Primitive Baptist Church, participating in many of the ministries including the Ladies Circle and singing in the choir.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years: Cecil Rigdon of Ocilla; daughters and sons-in-law: Susan & Eugene McMath of Dunnellon, Florida and Washington, D.C. and Patricia & Robert Blattman of Superior, Colorado; grandchildren: Neeli & Josh Renda of Parrish, Florida, Dayna & Todd Wynstra of Denver, Colorado, and Brandon Blattman of Superior, Colorado; great-grandchildren: Alex Renda, Ava Renda, Alyse Renda, Logan Wynstra, Caitlin Wynstra, and Brady Wynstra; a sister, Agnes Kelly of Ocilla; a sister-in-law, Jewell Freeman of Ocilla; and a brother-in-law, Robert Fain of Ocilla. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
