Obituary

Roger J. LeClerc, 79 formerly of Salem and Georgetown, died Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Twin Oaks Nursing Center in Danvers, following a long illness. Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Leo A. and Josephine (Erwin) LeClerc.

In his younger years, Roger worked with his father and brother in the running of the two family businesses: the Les Canadian Café of which he became the owner, and LeClerc Oil & Heating Company which his late brother, Robert later owned. Roger more recently worked as a security guard for Salem State College, retiring in 1998 with twenty-five years with the college. Following his retirement, Roger moved to Georgetown.

He is survived by two daughters, Doreen G. Fitts of Beverly, Shirley A. Belisle and her husband Robert C. of Danvers, a son, Roger R. ‘Rick’ LeClerc and his wife Valerie Terrill of Salem, a sister, Gloria Riley LeClerc of Salem, 4 grandchildren, Andrew LeClerc, Tiffany LaRoche, Robert Belisle all of Salem and Danielle Siegal of Billerica, as well as five great-grandchildren, Hartlie & Trent Siegal and Cole & Tova Johnson and Logan LeClerc. He was the former husband of Marion (Coombs) Soper of Lynn and Florida. He was predeceased by his brother Robert LeClerc.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visiting hours on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. to conclude with his funeral service at 6:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
