Rita A. Dennis, 90, formerly of Pleasant View Avenue, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Cortland Place in Greenville. She was the wife of Clifton S. Dennis. They had been married for 51 years.
Originally from Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Eva (Guilmette) Larue. She had worked in Washington, DC during the 1940’s and later moved back to Rhode Island with her husband and daughter in 1976.
After returning to Rhode Island she worked at several area nursing homes, including Hebert’s Nursing Home, as a CNA until her retirement. She was a soloist for the Greenville Golden Years for many years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Sandra Dennis and her husband, Jeff Home of Cumberland and a stepson, Gary Dennis of North Providence. She was the sister of the late Emilian and Stella Larue, Eva Holmberg and Alma Langevin.
Family and friends are invited to a Funeral service Friday at 10am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham. Visitation Friday morning 9-10am.
