Shirley M. (Gallant) Fiore, 80, of Worcester, died Sunday, February 9th in St. Vincent Hospital after a brief illness. Her husband of 33 years, Donald J. Fiore died in 1990. Among her survivors are three nieces, Cynthia Fiore of Whitinsville, Denise Miller of Worcester and Lee Ann Wood of Holden; two grand-nephews, Kenneth Haddad and his wife, Alizabeth of New York City and Christopher Haddad and his wife, Ashley of Seattle, WA; a great-grand nephew, Blake Haddad of New York City. Two brothers, Ralph E. and Robert F. Gallant and two sisters, Violet O. Fiore and Pauline E. Cardwell predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Edward H. and Lillian G. (Fontaine) Gallant. Shirley had at one time worked as the house keeper at St. Roch’s Church in Oxford. She was a longtime member and volunteer at Our Lady of the Angels Church and an active member of the Coes Pond Village community.
Her funeral is Friday, February 13th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with her funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, February 12th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
