Ruth Mary (Merritt) Bennett, 82, passed away at home February 9, 2015 after a battle with cancer.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Herman Bennett, her parents Mary (Shedd) and Jack Merritt, her brother Robert, sister Pauline Polner, and two grandchildren Lindsey Gray and Jaime Boley. Ruth leaves Rev. Linda Bennett, Cathy Ball, Marjorie Anagnos, JoAnn Peterson, Daniel Bennett, 12 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
A lifelong resident of Manchester, Ruth graduated from Central High School Class of 1951.
Ruth retired from the Veterans Administration in 2004 where she loved her job as the eligibility clerk. Ruth loved helping men and woman who served our country in the Armed Forces.
Ruth loved to knit creating many sweaters and mittens for her family.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, 961 Valley St, Manchester, NH. Internment will take place at a later time where Ruth will join Herman in their final resting place at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
