Rhode Island – Nestor Nicolas Gonzalez, age 68 of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Bartola (Maldanado) and the late Nicolas Gonzalez.
Mr. Gonzalez worked several jobs and was known by many as a handyman.
His family includes his children: Iris Gonzalez of New Bedford, Nestor M. Gonzalez of Fall River and Jacqueline Gonzalez of Dartmouth; 5 siblings: Esperanza Gonzalez, Lydia Gonzalez, Ruben Gonzalez, Ada L. Rivera and Lourdes Ramirez; as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. with a Religious Service to begin at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 – 8 P.M. Arrangements are placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, Ma.
