Mrs. Elizabeth G. “Betty” (Goffa) Wirtz, a resident of North Andover and beloved wife of the late Charles J. Wirtz, passed away after a very long illness, at the Sutton Hill Nursing Center in North Andover on Saturday evening, February 7, 2015. She was 84 years old.
Born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, on August 10, 1930, she was the beloved daughter of the late George and Mary (Cmar) Goffa. Betty was a communicant of St. Michael Church in North Andover and was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving children; James and his wife Janet Wirtz of Monterey, California and Mary Elise Wirtz and her husband Joe Silveira of North Andover, brother; Joseph B. and his wife Bernice Goffa of Conyngham, Pennsylvania, brother-in-law; LeRoy Mock of Allentown, Pennsylvania, grandchildren; Charlotte, Daniel and Andrew and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover on Friday, February 13, 2015, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Thursday, February 12, 2015, from 7 to 9 PM.
