Rose C. (Desmond) Kimball passed away peacefully at Mary Immaculate Health Care in Lawrence on Thursday. She was 100 years old.
Born and raised in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Rose V. (Barry) Desmond. Rose graduated Lowell Teacher’s College in 1937 and went on to teach for three years in a one room school house in Vermont. A brief career she was proud of. Once married, Rose and her late husband Ernest settled in Medford where they raised their family. Rose was a devoted wife mother and grandmother who with her husband was active at the former Sacred Heart Parish in Medford’s Hillside Neighborhood.
The beloved wife of the late Ernest G. Kimball, she was a devoted mother to Edwin J. Kimball and his wife Joan of Pinehurst, NC, John F. Kimball of Plymouth, Anne L. Edgerly of Andover and the late Lawrence P and Donald C. Kimball. Rose was a loving grandmother to Nula, Glen, Kirsten, Scott, Noelle, Carolyn, Charles, Mary and Peter and also leaves nine loving great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, February 11th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, 4 – 8 PM. Burial will be in springtime.
