Maria G. (Britto) Almeida, 95, of New Bedford died February 6, 2015 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford.
She was the wife the late Antone Almeida.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Pedro M. and Gertrude (Almeida) Britto, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was a member of the Merchant Mariners Club, Cape Verdean American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary and the Cape Verdean Women's Social Club.
Survivors include a brother, Peter Britto and his wife Avis of New Bedford; a sister, Evelyn Gomes of New Bedford; a brother-in-law, Bartolomeu Gomes; and several nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
She was the sister of the late Benjamin Britto, Manuel Britto, Roy Britto and Joseph George Britto.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 11th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Her family will receive guests from 10 - 11 AM prior to her service. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
