Mrs. Esther Fay (Edwards) Van Duinen, a resident of Andover for the past five years, formerly of Grand Blanc, Michigan and beloved wife of the late Enos Andy Van Duinen, passed away at the Steward Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Friday afternoon, February 6, 2015. She was 90 years old.
Born in Kleburg, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of the late Norman and Nellie (Redd) Edwards. Mrs. Van Duinen was an LPN and had been employed by the Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan, for many years. She had a strong faith in God and was an active member of the Holly Seventh-day Adventist Church in Holly, Michigan. Esther devoted many years serving as a Children's Sabbath School Leader and is fondly remembered by many. She often reminisced about growing up on a cotton farm in Texas, meeting Enos at church during World War II, and moving to Michigan to be with his family until he returned from his Army service in England. She will be dearly missed.
Esther is survived by her loving children; Norman (Andy) Anthony Van Duinen of Portland, Oregon, Thomas Arthur Van Duinen of Alpena, Michigan and Sherri and her husband Steven J. Dovich of Andover, grandchildren; Aidan, Bennett, Thomas and Timothy Van Duinen and Elizabeth and Alexander Dovich and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be privately held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home of Andover. For additional information, please visit, www.burkemagliozzi.com.
