Mary Judith (Lavelle) Price passed away suddenly on February 5, 2015 at her home in Medway.
Born in Scranton, PA she was the eldest daughter of Peter and Helen Lavelle, sister of James Lavelle of Brookline, Thomas L. Lavelle of Walpole, and Jeannie (Lavelle) Walsh of La Jolla, CA. Beloved wife of Thomas R. Price, she was the loving mother of Thomas Price Jr. of Medway, Megan (Price) Hight, of Westborough and Betsy (Price) Newman of Needham.
“Jude” was also the beloved grandmother of Cameron Briggs, Teagan and Carley Price, Jamie and Emily Hight, and Maura and Maeve Newman. Jude is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and countless good friends.
She was a graduate of St. Paul’s High School in Scranton, PA and Kings County School of Nursing, Brooklyn, NY. Jude had a life-long and rewarding career in nursing at the Milford Regional Medical Center, the Milford-Whitinsville Behavioral Health Center and Wellesley College. More recently she provided in-home nursing for the elderly and hospice care.
Jude was a wonderful conversationalist, great company, an avid story-teller and “the family nurse.” What was most important to her was caring for people and friends while spending time with her devoted husband, children, grandchildren, brothers and sister.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
