GLOUCESTER: Susan Vickery Flasher, 63, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2015, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her family and friends following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Phillip Flasher.
Born in Gloucester on October 26, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Baglini. She was a lifelong resident and a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1969.
For many years Susan worked at the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Office in Gloucester, Action Inc., Gorton’s and in recent years as a waitress in several restaurants in the Cape Ann Area.
For all who knew Susie, she was lively, always smiling, generous, and a great deal of fun to be around. She cherished her special pets, Pumpkin and Jessie, who she considered her children, and she enjoyed her many trips to Foxwoods.
In addition to her husband, Susan is survived by her sister, Barbara Tognazzi of Gloucester, and her brother Philip Baglini of Boston, her nieces, Lisa Roberts of Boston, Brenda, wife of John Fleming of Gloucester, Teresa Albertine of Hudson NH, and nephews, Nicholas and wife Inga Tognazzi of Gloucester, Brian and wife Maria Tognazzi of Nashua, NH, and Peter Gertzue of Lynn, MA, and her special friends Marilyn Pecunies of Florida, Marlan Lovasco, and Lois Mazzeo of Gloucester. She also leaves her special grandnieces, Heather and Lindsey Fleming and special godchild, Wendy LaFond of Kissimmee, FL. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Michael Baglini, Charles Burgess, her sisters, Gertrude Gertzue, Sandra Burgess, and brother-in-law, Albert Tognazzi.
Due to the anticipated snow storm, her graveside funeral service has been rescheduled to Tuesday in the Calvary Cemetery at 1 p.m. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday afternoon in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 1 - 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
