Dennis Howard Gloff
July 16, 1945-Feb. 4, 2015


ANDERSON - Dennis H. "Denny" Gloff, 69, of Anderson, passed away suddenly of suspected heart failure at his home on February 4, 2015.

Denny was born in LaPorte, IN, to Howard and Eileen (Mohlke) Gloff. He graduated from Valparaiso High School, class of 1963, and came to Anderson to attend Anderson University, where he played baseball under his idol, Carl Erskine, and then later played semi-pro ball. Denny worked at First Savings and Loan for a few years, where he met his wife, Laura, whom he married on October 12, 1974. He worked in the automobile industry for forty years as a Grand Master salesman, manager and auto auction buyer.

Denny is survived by his wife, Laura (Harless) Gloff; his two daughters, Amanda Jill Gloff and Alycia Lynn Gloff; brother, Terry Grieger of Hollywood, CA; sister, Jill (Thomas) Atkins of Valparaiso, IN; in-laws, Jack (Phyllis) Harless; Jim (Vicki) Harless; Jim (Kelly) Tumulty; and several loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Gloff and Eileen (Mohlke) Grieger; stepfather, Ray Grieger; paternal grandparents, George (Marie) Gloff; maternal grandparents, Ernest (Mae) Mohlke; beloved uncle and aunt, Mike (Narceata) Spiess; cousin, Jack Spiess, who was like a brother; and uncles, Darwin, John and George Gloff.

Denny was a member of Bethany Christian Church, where he volunteered as a server for many years. He was an avid sports and racing fan, enjoyed restoring old cars, loved camping with his family, and adored his two daughters. Denny loved animals of all kinds, especially his own pets. He was known for his positive, upbeat outlook on life and enjoyed teasing his family and friends. He was greatly loved by many and will truly be missed.

Services will be held 2:30 P.M. on Saturday at Bethany Christian Church with Jim Harless and Bob Bell officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be given to Bethany Christian Church.
