James C. Thibault, 61, of Westport passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 after a courageous battle against cancer. He was the husband of Deborah (Rego) Thibault.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Russell and L. Avis (Clifton) Thibault, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. Mr. Thibault was a firefighter for the Town of Westport for 33 years until his retirement in 2003. He was the proprietor of James Thibault Trucking of Westport, he snowplowed numerous residents in the area for many years. He was famous for his chicken barbeques for local fundraising events. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Including his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters: Wendy Candeias and her husband Michael of Westport, Holly Avilla and her companion David St. Laurent of Westport and Kristy Charest and her husband David of Dartmouth; a brother: Russell G. “Rusty” Thibault of Westport; a sister: Pamela J. Thibault of Cape Cod; 5 beloved grandchildren: Michayla, Nicholas, Aaron, Jack and Ethan; a niece: Tiffany; and 2 nephews: Michael and Ryan.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Friday 4 – 7 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
