Nancy E. (Samora) French, age 61, passed away on Jan. 20, 2015 in Springfield. She was born on Feb. 8, 1953 in Bourne, MA, a daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Louise (Flynn) Samora. She graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 1971 and studied art at the Art Institute of Boston and University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Nancy was artistic and loved to cook. She was independent, proud and followed her own path in life. In recent years, she found a caring home with Friends of the Homeless in Springfield. Nancy loved her family very much. She leaves her son Michael French and his partner Elizabeth Montalbano of Denver, CO; her daughter, Amber French and her wife Tara Luce of Pelham; 2 brothers, Ray Samora and his wife Kitty of Westminster, MA and Stephen Samora and his wife Jane of Richmond, VA; 1 sister Sandra Steinmetz and her husband Harry of Philadelphia, PA. She also leaves her granddaughter Isabel; nephews Aaron, Brandon, David, Nick, Riley; nieces Kim and Yocheved. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Monday, Feb. 9, 2015 from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at the Grise Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St Patrick's Church at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in St Patrick's Cemetery.
