TILTON - William R. "Bill" Hodgman, 90, died on Feb.2, 2015 at the New Hampshire Veterans Home.
He was born in Peterborough, NH and lived most of his life in the Concord area. He spent 21 years in the US Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. Prior to the Air Force he was a firefighter for the City of Concord. During his military career he was a Warehouse and Supply Distribution Manager. Bill spent 2 years in New Guinea during WWII, a year in Korea during the Korean War, and a year in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He was very proud of his military career and after retirement earned the nickname “3 Wars Bill”. He was a life time member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV, and Air Force Sergeant’s Association.
Bill was married for 57 years to Beverly Hodgman (Ainsworth) from Hardwick, VT who died in 2004. He is survived by three sons, Ricky Hodgman and friend Beth Blakley of East Washington, Ralph Hodgman and wife Lorna of Littleton, and Robert Hodgman of Bradford; also a daughter Randy Sanborn and friend Russ Bailey of Farmington. He also had a daughter Sandra Hodgman who died as a child. He has 7 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Lila Riley of Concord, Nita Raby and husband Buck of Epsom, and Carol Sullivan of Nashua as well as a brother Douglas Robinson and wife Emma of Orlando, FL, and a brother in law Donald Sansoussi and wife Gail of Lake Placid, FL.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 17th at 1 PM in the chapel at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen with the Reverend Henry M. Frost officiating.
