Gervis Evers Allen, 71, of Sycamore died Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Private services and burial will be held for Ms. Allen at a later date.
Ms. Allen was born on April 17, 1943 in Chula and was the daughter of Henry C. Evers and Lillian Ann Findley Evers, both deceased. She was a retired sitter for the elderly and a member of New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church.
Ms. Allen is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Hank Walker of Hazlehurst and Tamala and Rudy Olague of Gloucester, Virginia; two brothers, Donald Evers and Curtis Evers, both of Moultrie; three sisters, Geneva Evers of Tifton, Trudy Craft of Sycamore and Mary Lou Massey of Omega; seven grandchildren, Phillip Linebarger and his wife Lori, Matthew Walker, Brandy Flickinger, Joshua Tanner, Ashley Tanner, Alexandrea Sampson and Joel Olague; five great-grandchildren, Brazz Linebarger, Carson Marple, Oliveah Marple, Aubrie Tanner and Noah Pazmino; a niece, Ann Fuller of Sycamore; and her children's father, Dean Hayes of Hazlehurst.
