Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Lauren R. (Calobrisi) Anderson, wife of Craig Anderson, died on January 29, 2015. Born in Syosset, Long Island, N.Y., on October 19, 1967, Lauren was the daughter of Lewis and Gloria (LoPresto) Calobrisi of Palm Coast, Fla., and formerly of West Islip, Long Island. Lauren grew up in Copiague and West Islip, and was a graduate of West Islip High School and New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury, N.Y.
Lauren and Craig were married on October 11, 1997, in Venice, Italy, and made their home in Gloucester. Their beloved son Craig James Anderson was born the following August. Lauren’s favorite things were her family, her pets and travel. She loved her family trips to Florida and to Iceland and Sedona, Ariz., as well. She and Craig were planning to go back to Sedona in April.
Lauren was devoted to her family and was actively engaged in all of her family’s activities. She volunteered enthusiastically in support of her son Craig’s schools and his Cub Scout pack and Boy Scout troop. She worked as office manager and provided sales support for her husband Craig’s business, Advanced Computer Services of Gloucester. And she always stayed closely connected with her parents, working with her mother on plans to celebrate her father’s 80th birthday in the spring.
Lauren also served the wider Cape Ann community, supporting The Open Door’s annual Empty Bowl Dinner and cheerfully and skillfully welcoming visitors and supporting member businesses as a longtime volunteer at the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce. Lauren brought a warm smile and radiance to all who had the pleasure to meet her.
Lauren Anderson is survived by her husband, Craig, and their son, Craig James, a junior at Essex Tech; her parents, Lew and Gloria Calobrisi; and her brothers James and Lewis Calobrisi. She is also survived by her nephews, Ben and Matt Webber, Evan Anderson and Michael Calobrisi; her brothers-in-law, Peter Webber and Mark Anderson; her sister-in-law ,Karen (Anderson) Webber; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
Calling hours, including a memorial service, will be held at Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester, on Thursday, February 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Lauren’s memory be made to The Open Door, Cape Ann Animal Aid or a charity of one’s choice.
