Yolanda J. (Guaraldi) Famularo, age 94 of Brockton, died Monday February 2, 2015 at Lifecare of West Bridgewater after a period of failing health. She was the devoted wife for 59 years of the late Frank A. Famularo. Yolanda was born in Bologna, Italy a daughter of the late John and Angelina (Zambelli) Guaraldi and came to Brockton with her family in 1934.
A 1938 graduate of Brockton High School, Yolanda had been the housekeeper for Dr. Walter Goldstein and supplied tortellini to the Italian Kitchen for many years. She had been a member of the Sons of Italy and the Brockton Seniors Center. Yolanda was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church for over 85 years.
In her free time she enjoyed knitting (making afghans for newborns’ baptisms), reading, and especially cooking for her family.
Yolanda is survived by her two sons Frank R. Famularo and his wife Pat of North Easton and Michael Famularo of Yarmouth. She leaves seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Yolanda was the sister of Lillian Courtemache wife of the late Albert of Brockton; Bert Guaraldi and his wife Theresa of South Easton and Eddie Guaraldi and his wife Marie of Brockton. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday 3-7 pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 9am for a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 10am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
