Manuel Torres, 93, of Hudson, died unexpectedly at his residence on Monday, Feb. 2nd. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Geraldina (Vieria) Torres of Hudson.
Manuel was born and raised in St. Michael, the Azores of Portugal, son of the late Manuel and Maria Carmen (Santos) Torres. He emigrated from Portugal to the United States 34 years ago residing in California for a short time before moving to Hudson where he has resided the past 25 years. He was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.
Manuel along with his wife cherished spending time with their families. They took great pride in the raising of their two daughters and later enjoyed caring for their grandchildren. He took great pride in the care of their home and will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Maria Carmen Graca and Maria Fatima Janiero, both of Hudson. He is also survived by his sister, Rosa Periera of Cambridege and his loving grandchildren, Sonia, Nelson, Carlos and Brian Graca, and Christopher, Dennis and Michael Janiero.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 4th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Tuesday Feb. 3rd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
