FRANKLIN: Carol H. (Mullen) Graham, age 71, a longtime Franklin resident and retired registered nurse, died on Friday evening, January 30, 2015, with her devoted husband of 48 years, Ronald J. Graham, at her side.
Born and raised in Natick, Carol was a daughter of the late Bud and Sally (Frederick and Sarah, nee McKay) Mullen. A graduate of Saint Patrick’s School in Natick and Marian High School in Framingham, she continued her education at D’Youville College earning her nursing credentials. Upon her return to Natick, Carol was initially employed with the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Jamaica Plain and subsequently Leonard Morse Hospital. She went on to spend the majority of her career working with and caring for the residents of the Charlwell House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. She retired in 1999.
Carol and Ron were married in 1966 and made their home in Westwood and Medfield prior to settling in Franklin. Carol enjoyed home life and a circle of intimate friends. Of any trips she had taken, her favorites were those to visit her daughter and grandchildren in North Carolina. Talented with crochet and knitting, Carol would spend idle time creating blankets she gifted to hospitalized children and those in homes for orphans.
She is survived by Ron, their daughter, Caron Leigh Kay and her husband Steven of Apex, NC; grandchildren Ethan, Madison, and Justin Kay; her sister, Susan Haas and her husband Neil of SD; a brother, John Mullen of NM, in-laws and friends, David and Maureen Graham of Natick; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, on Thursday, Feb. 5th at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Wednesday, 4 – 7PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
